CIFF Film Club – New Season Starts 23 February

    ‘Redemption of a Rogue‘ – Tuesday 23 February, 7pm

It’s back! Cork International Film Festival is delighted to announce the return of the CIFF Film Club, in partnership with The Gate Cinemas, with the first of five screening events starting at 7pm on Tuesday 23rd February, and then every third Tuesday of each month until June.

Bringing the joy of cinema directly to the comfort of your own home, the 2021 season kicks off with ‘Redemption of a Rogue‘, the award-winning Irish biblical, black comedy and debut feature from Philip Doherty, which tells the tale of a prodigal son (Aaron Monaghan – Vikings, Love/Hate, The Tudors) returning to his hometown to seek salvation for his sins. The film will be followed by a live Q&A with director Philip Doherty and lead actors Aaron Monaghan and Aisling O’Mara.

Winner of Best Irish Film and Best Irish First Feature at the Galway Film Fleadh in 2020, ‘Redemption of a Rogue’ “has enough laughter, warmth and eccentricity to win hearts in Ireland and far beyond” (Screen Daily).

We hope you’ll join us for this thrilling Irish feature film, and for this new season of the latest and best Irish and international fiction and documentaries, presented with exclusive introductions and live Q&As with filmmakers.
