As the leaves begin to fall, the CIFF team is immersed in finalising this year’s exciting and ambitious Festival programme. Culture Night/Oíche Chultúir is on Friday 20th September and the Festival will present charming animated European short films for free online for you to enjoy on the night, no matter where you are in Ireland.

FREE IRISH & EURPOPEAN SHORTS WITH OÍCHE CHULTÚIR/CULTURE NIGHT 2024

CIFF will host TWO free online short film programmes:
Discover the best of Irish and European cinema with our Family Programme, bound to engage and inspire film enthusiasts of all ages.
Celebrate 110 years of Hungarian Animation with our spectacular programme of Hungarian Animation Shorts that showcase the outstanding work of Hungarian Artists throughout history.
Both programmes will be available to watch for free online from 5pm to 10pm on Friday, 20th September.

IGNITE-Docs YEAR FIVE APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN
Are you an Irish or Northern Irish documentary filmmaker embarking on your first or second non-fiction feature film? Submit your project now to IGNITE-Docs, a bilingual talent development programme directed towards emerging Irish and Northern Irish documentary filmmakers, a joint initiative of CIFF and Docs Ireland.
Closing date for applications: 5pm, Friday 20th September
The IGNITE-Docs Documentary Talent Development programme is supported by TG4, Arts Council Ireland, Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland, Coimisiún na Meán, Arts & Business NI and Screen Skill Net.

CIFF is a semi-finalist in the Cork Digital Marketing Awards 2024 in the Best Social Media Campaign category.
These awards, which will be announced on 11th October, provide a platform for Cork businesses to showcase their recent digital successes and achievements. It is an opportunity to be recognised for the digital, social and online work carried out by organisations in our local digital community.
Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland has launched Perspectives, a new programme to support the development and production of lower budget Irish feature films.
In response to Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland’s commitment to empowering and supporting creative talent, Perspectives is a pilot initiative for filmmakers providing a window into experiences and viewpoints that may not have been widely represented on the big screen before. See the full guidelines here.
