Award Season Irish Winners and Nominees
Awards season kicked off last week with the 75th Golden Globes, which saw Martin McDonagh (Best Screenplay, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri) and Saoirse Ronan (Best Actress, Ladybird) take home awards.
McDonagh and Ronan’s successful run continues with next month’s Baftas which again sees them nominated for Best Director and Leading Actress, respectively. Find the full list of Irish talent nominated here.
Anyone hoping for Irish Oscar glory this year will have to wait until January 23 when this year’s Nominations Announcement will take place.
Closer to home, The Irish Film and Television Awards will take place on 15 February. Alongside a plethora of nominated Irish filmakers and acting talent, we’re delighted to see Cork FIlm Festival 2017 favourites Michael Inside and Song of Granite (both up for Best Feature Film), with Frank Berry (nominated in the Director and Scriptwriter categories for Michael Inside), Dafhyd Flynn (Actor in a Leading Role- Film), and ‘No Stone Unturned‘ directed by Alex Gibney (George Morrison Feature Documentary). We wish all the nominees the best of luck!
