    News

From French slashers and Italian giallo, to German serial killers and possessed Polish nuns, each feature will have you on the edge of your seat and covering your eyes.

Cork International Film Festival (CIFF) returns this March with its popular and thrilling season of cinematic terror at the Triskel, Cork. Fear Screen presents a selection of gripping tales and chilling masterpieces, curated by CIFF and screening every Thursday at 8:15pm for the month of March at the Triskel.

    Fear Screen 2025

Cork audiences can catch Alexandre Bustillo & Julien Maury’s 2007 French slasher Inside; Polish 1961 Cannes winner Mother Joan of the Angels (Jerzy Kawalerowicz); the eerie Tenderness of the Wolves from Ulli Lommel (1973); and the directorial debut from Italian master of horror Dario Argento’s The Bird with the Crystal Plumage. Each screening will be introduced by CIFF Programme Manager, Si Edwards.

This season of cinematic bone chillers will be complemented by an online programme of French horror shorts, French Fear, available on CIFF’s Digital Festival Platform, Thursday, 6th March – Sunday, 30th March.

    INSIDE

This screening opens with the short film REAL (Rodrigue Hart, 4 min, France). 1857. Two peasant women find a smartphone in their field.
